How to take your measurements
Use a soft tape measure and keep it snug but not tight. Where possible, have someone help you. Round to the nearest quarter inch (or half cm). The diagram below shows where each measurement is taken.
Measurement reference
- Neck
- Around the base of the neck.
- Chest
- Around the fullest part of the chest, under the arms.
- Bust
- Around the fullest part of the bust.
- Shoulder
- From the tip of one shoulder to the other, across the back.
- Sleeve Length
- From shoulder tip to desired sleeve end.
- Top Length
- From the shoulder down to the desired top hem.
- Blouse Length
- From shoulder to desired blouse hem.
- Gown Length
- From shoulder to the desired hem of the gown.
- Waist
- Around the natural waistline.
- Hip
- Around the fullest part of the hips.
- Thigh
- Around the fullest part of the thigh.
- Trouser Length
- From the waist to the ankle.
- Wrapper Length
- Desired length of the wrapper.
- Nipple to Nipple
- Horizontal distance between bust points.
